Daesh has released dozens of detainees whom it arrested before in villages located in Deir Ezzor’s western countryside.
The released included 4 civilians from the village of Al-Safirah, Deir Ezzor’s western countryside, who were arrested for around 70 days, and 8 others from the area of Al-Shamiyah who spent 2 months in a Daesh-run prison.
Sources indicated to D24 that some Daesh commanders were intending to execute a large number of detainees, however, after some of the organization’s high-ranking commanders intervened, the detainees were released.
The organization arrested around 156 civilians in several villages in the western countryside two months ago, including Safira Tahtani, Hamar Al-Ali, Hawayej Diyab and Hawayej Al Busamaa. All of them were arrested on various charges, ranging from illegal crossing into the SDF-held areas or communication with them.
