D24’s exclusive pictures depict the current miserable situation of trapped civilians in besieged Deir Ezzor who are facing hunger and are vulnerable to diseases and abuses by both, Assad and Daesh. There is currently and extreme shortage of food items and clothes that coincide with harsh winter conditions. In the pictures, children wear long clothes that do not fit their size and torn shoes on their way to school, which reflect the frightening level of the humanitarian crisis in the besieged city.
