The DEMC and the SDF are quickly advancing against Daesh held areas in the eastern and northern countryside of Deir Ezzor. Today, they captured new villages following heavy clashes against Daesh, during which they were backed by heavy coalition air cover.
The captured villages include the villages of Al Hariji, Al-Harjiyah, Al-Fadin, Al-Jaar and Al-Andahi in northern Deir Ezzor. The strategic importance of the village of Al-Hariji lies in its proximity to the oil fields located on its outskirts, including Al-Fayas, Al-Sayad, Al-Daesh and Al-Sijan oil fields.
Two days ago, the SDF captured the Jadid Akidat town in eastern Deir Ezzor following violent clashes against Daesh. This village is regarded as one of the main strongholds of the organization. Clashes are ongoing between both parties as the SDF are attempting to gain control over the town of Jadid Bakara.
Heavy clashes have been ongoing in the northern and eastern countryside of Deir Ezzor between Daesh and the SDF, during which the latter managed to capture large swaths of lands consisting of the biggest oil and gas fields in the province.
