Special sources provided D24 network with details of the disappearance of two groups of the Assad’s forces in Deir Ezzor over the past few days.
According to the sources, the first group consisted of three Russian fighters, one of them is an officer and a group of five local fighters of the Assad’s forces, including an officer, a noncommissioned officer and three soldiers.
The sources added:
The group was ambushed by Daesh on the road between Deir Ezzor and Palmyra, and the operation resulted in the killing of the five Syrian elements, whose bodies were found at the site, while the Russian fighters were likely to be captured by the organization.
The same sources confirmed the disappearance of another military group of the Assad forces, consisting of an officer and nine soldiers in the badiyah of Deir Ezzor in the area between Al-Mayadeen and Al-Ishara, where the group was conducting a reconnaissance in the badiyah area before losing contact with it, so it is likely that it was ambushed by Daesh.
There were few days between the two similar incidents in Deir Ezzor, indicating an increase in Daesh activity in the badiyah of Deir Ezzor on the west bank of the Euphrates River, coinciding with the receding of the organization and its surrender in its last strongholds, “Al-Baghuz town” in the east bank of the Euphrates River.
