A missile fired by Assad’s forces exploded in the southern bank of the Euphrates River “Al-Shamiyah” in Deir Ezzor in the vicinity of Al-Omar oilfield, which is controlled by the international coalition forces and the SDF.
The targeting of the area by the Assad’s forces coincided with the targeting of military positions belonging the Assad forces with RPGs and some medium weapons by the SDF in Al-Quriyah city.
This targeting of the SDF-controlled areas and the Coalition by the Assad’s forces is the first of its kind, especially that the targeted area “Al-Omar field” is one of the largest bases of the international coalition in the region.
It should be noted that following the launch of the missile by the Assad’s forces on the positions of the SDF, the area witnessed military build-up and high alert by the SDF along the bank of the Euphrates River opposite to the cities of Al-Quriyah, Mahkan, and Al-Ishara which are controlled by the Assad’s forces.
