Corruption hit the branches of education again in Deir Ezzor, but this time the corruption was at the level of higher education.
According to D24 network correspondent, a suspicious transaction in the Faculty of Arts and Humanities at Al-Furat University has been revealed.
D24 correspondent said that a process of procuring computers (a bid for the purchase of new computers) has been made at a cost of 10 million pounds over the past few days, later the computers were found to be second-hand with very old systems and specifications.
The accusation was directed against the dean of the Faculty of Arts and Humanities “Talea’a Al-Sayyah” and the Chief of Procurement “Muhammed Al-Sayej” for their involvement in a number of suspicious transactions, the latest of which was the bid for purchasing computers.
It is noteworthy that during the past period Talea’a Al-Sayyah was called in to Damascus by the Directorate of monitoring and inspection but she returned to Deir Ezzor stronger than before.
