Today, Tuesday 3-12-2019, people in most areas of Deir Ezzor countryside that are liberated from Assad regime began using the US dollar instead of the Syrian pound.
Deir Ezzor 24 network correspondent said that the hospitals, pharmacies, and most of the food stores and internet cafes have asked customers to pay in US dollars instead of the Syrian pound.
And the exchange shops were closed to customers in Deir Ezzor countryside except for those who opened just to buy dollars.
It is noteworthy that the Syrian pound collapsed rapidly in the last few days, reaching striking and unprecedented historical decrease (1000 pounds for 1 dollar), which pushed business owners to deal with the dollar instead of the Syrian pound.
