Yesterday, Tuesday, the Turkish security forces arrested a senior Daesh leader, official Turkish agencies reported.
Yousef al-Marhoon, known as Abu Taqi al-Shami, a leader of Daesh, was arrested in the Turkish state of Bursa.
Al-Marhoon is 50 years old, from Deir Ezzor province, al-Mayadeen city. He was in oil before joining Daesh.
According to activists from Deir Ezzor, Al-Marhoon held various positions in Daesh, he was a security emir at one point, and an executioner at another, where he appeared in some videos of the group carrying out executions against young men from Deir Ezzor.
A large number of former Daesh operatives have fled Syria to neighboring countries and have been integrated into society, in an attempt to hide the past and escape punishment for the crimes they committed during Daesh control.
