Exclusive:
A source told Deir Ezzor 24 network that elements of Assad’s forces were injured last night as a result of mutual shelling between Assad’s forces on the Euphrates River bank near al-Mayadeen city and unknown assailants on the side of Al-Hawayej town crossing east of the Euphrates.

The source noted that the clash began after a military post of Assad’s forces on the Euphrates bank was targeted from the side of Al-Hawayej crossing by unknown assailants, in return Assad’s forces responded to the source of the fire with medium and light weapons.

He confirmed that the clash lasted for about 10 minutes, after which the gunmen escaped to an unknown place, and the SDF surrounded the crossing site with military armoured vehicles and Humvees.

It is indicated that this is the first time for Assad’s forces to be targeted from the eastern Euphrates areas in several years.
