Maintenance work has been halted for the second week in a row at Ali bin Abi Talib mosque in Al-Hamidiyah neighborhood in Deir Ezzor for unknown reasons, according to Deir Ezzor 24 network correspondent.

Earlier this year 2020, the so-called (The Iranian Cultural Center) started restoration and maintenance of the mosque.

Ali bin Abi Talib mosque was one of the starting points for demonstrations against Assad regime at the beginning of the peaceful movement, and has been bombed more than once by Assad’s forces in the last years.
