On Wednesday, July 29, the Early Epidemiological Intervention Team registered two coronavirus (COVID-19) cases in the al-Naba’i neighborhood in the town of Abu Hamam in al-Shaitat area, Eastern Deir Ezzor.
The team took blood samples from seven people who contacted the first infected person who moved to Damascus. The tests showed five negative results; however, two were positive.
A source close to the first infected person’s family said that the two cases belong to the person’s wife and his brother’s wife.
The first infected person is from al-Bukaan town and works as a bus driver assistant on the Deir Ezzor-Aleppo highway. He transformed infection to two women when he visited their house. He escaped to Damascus and now is quarantined in a hospital.
