Suspected Daesh members attacked National Defense militia’s posts in the steppe of the towns of al-Shumeitiyah and al-Kharitah in the western Deir Ezzor countryside. The members killed four fighters and injured others; however, others were lost.
A landmine exploded on a vehicle transporting food for the militia. After, shooters driving two pick up vehicles and riding motorcycles attacked military posts of the militia in the area, killing two fighters, injuring others as others were lost in the attack..
A source confirmed to Deir Ezzor 24 Network that military operations commander refused to send warplanes to cover the area. The source added that the Nahiyat manager refused to send reinforcements.
The killed and lost fighters are from al-Kharitah in western Deir Ezzor. Residents of al-Kharita raised the alert to know the fate of their sons who were lost in the attack.
